Tottenham is looking for a new right-back as Pedro Porro attracts interest from Real Madrid.
Reports suggest that if Real Madrid makes a move for Porro, it could affect Tottenham’s plans to sign Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold. This situation has led Tottenham to start searching for a replacement for Porro.
One player on their radar is Lutsharel Geertruida, a Dutch right-back currently playing for RB Leipzig. Although Geertruida just joined Leipzig and has a contract until 2029, there is a possibility that Leipzig might consider selling him for the right price.
While the transfer fee for Geertruida is currently seen as high, the player has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League. This could lower his price to around €40-45 million, making him a more attractive option for Tottenham.
Porro has been praised as “unbelievable” by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, highlighting how important he is to the team. Losing him would be a significant blow for Tottenham, so it is crucial for the club’s management to find a suitable replacement quickly.
However, Tottenham will not have an easy time securing Geertruida. Other clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Lyon, have also shown interest in the player.
If RB Leipzig decides to let Geertruida go, it will be up to Tottenham to persuade him that joining their team is the best choice for his career.
