Claudio Ranieri aims to revive Roma’s season against Tottenham in the Europa League.
Roma has had a tough year, leading to the firing of their previous coach, Jose Mourinho, along with Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric. Ranieri stepped in last week and made his debut with a loss against Napoli. This is his third time coaching the club he has always supported.
Paulo Dybala returns to the starting lineup after dealing with muscle issues. He will play alongside Artem Dovbyk, while Mats Hummels will make his first start in a defense that aims to be strong. Alexis Saelemaekers is back in the squad after recovering from ankle surgery, but Mario Hermoso and Eldor Shomurodov are not part of the traveling team.
Tottenham is also facing challenges, especially with Vicario out for several months due to a broken ankle. Fraser Forster will take his place in goal. Other players like Cristian Romero, Richarlison, Micky van de Ven, Wilson Odobert, and Mikey Moore are also unavailable.
The team’s recent performance has been inconsistent, with losses to Galatasaray and Ipswich Town, but they managed a big win against Manchester City, beating them 4-0 in the Premier League. Ex-Juventus players Rodrigo Bentancur and Radu Dragusin will start for Tottenham.
Destiny Udogie will be on the bench, while Dejan Kulusevski and Heung-min Son are included in the starting lineup. The match is crucial for both teams as they look to improve their standings in the Europa League.
