Jurrien Timber shares how support from teammates helped him recover from injury and regain his form, contributing to Arsenal’s recent victories in the league.
In recent matches, Arsenal has shown strong performances, winning 3-0 against Nottingham Forest, 5-1 in Lisbon, and 5-2 against West Ham. Much of the credit goes to Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, who have been scoring and assisting goals.
However, Timber has also played a crucial role in strengthening the right side of the team. He has quickly adapted after being out for the entire 2023/24 season. With other defenders injured, Timber has stepped up to meet the challenge.
After Arsenal’s latest win, Timber shared how he managed to return to form. He emphasized the importance of the people around him, saying, “You’re as good as the people around you.” He feels grateful for the support he receives from his teammates.
Timber added, “I’m just trying to push, keep going. The players around me are so good that it makes it easier to play.” He feels fit and ready to contribute to the team’s success.
Currently, Arsenal is facing a shortage of right-backs due to injuries. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are both out, leaving Timber to carry the load. The team had to rely on 18-year-old Josh Nichols as the only experienced backup.
Despite the pressure, Timber believes that his teammates can help ease the burden. With Saka and Odegaard performing well, he can focus on his game without overexerting himself. This teamwork is crucial for maintaining his fitness during the busy festive season.
