Swansea City aims for the Premier League with new leadership and a solid plan, according to Swans Trust director Paul Meller, who welcomes recent changes in club ownership.
Recently, the club announced that Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien sold their majority stake to current chairman Andy Coleman, along with Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris, and businessman Jason Cohen.
Meller expressed his support for these changes, saying they bring fresh investment to the club. He believes this investment is essential for building a sustainable future and sets a strong foundation for the club’s progress.
He emphasized that there is a clear plan in place for the club’s direction, which is crucial for moving forward. The ultimate aim, according to Meller, is to reach the Premier League.
As part of the takeover, the Swans Trust, which holds a protected 5% stake in the club, has gained an additional seat on the board. This change is seen as a positive step for the Trust.
Meller noted that the club wanted to strengthen the Trust’s role. He mentioned that their previous position has been enhanced, allowing them to have a greater voice in the boardroom while maintaining their 5% stake.
