Italy’s coach emphasizes the need for Raspadori to gain more playing time.
Raspadori has been feeling frustrated with his limited role, and Spalletti understands his situation. He stated on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, “The lad is absolutely right. In order to show his real quality, he needs to play more.” Spalletti, who previously managed Napoli, knows Raspadori well, having seen him contribute to their Scudetto win.
Raspadori is seen as a valuable option for both Italy and Napoli. His ability to adapt to different positions is a strength, although it has sometimes held him back. Spalletti noted, “Raspadori’s great strength is that he can adapt to various contexts and the game that you put him into.” He mentioned that while Raspadori lacks some physicality, he compensates for it in other ways.
Currently, Antonio Conte is coaching Napoli and prefers more physical forwards like Romelu Lukaku. Napoli is at the top of the Serie A standings, but only by a narrow margin in a competitive title race.
Spalletti reflected on his time at Napoli, saying, “My past at Napoli will always be in my heart.” He praised the current team, stating, “Now there is a strong squad with a great coach and exceptional fans. They have all the elements required to get back to the top.” This shows his belief in Napoli’s potential to succeed again.
