Leicester City has named Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new First Team Manager.
Van Nistelrooy, who is 48 years old, recently received praise for his time as Manchester United’s interim manager. He had a successful run, remaining unbeaten in his three matches in charge. This record has raised hopes that he can help Leicester turn things around quickly.
Before this role, he managed Jong PSV but left due to feeling unsupported. Now, he faces a new challenge at King Power Stadium. Leicester’s chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, expressed excitement about Van Nistelrooy’s arrival, highlighting his experience and winning mindset.
Van Nistelrooy shared that he spoke with Enzo Maresca before accepting the job. He mentioned that Maresca had positive things to say about the club, which made him eager to join.
The new manager expressed his pride and excitement about the opportunity. He noted that everyone he spoke to about Leicester City had great things to say about the club and its supporters.
Currently, Leicester is just one point above the relegation zone and has one of the weakest defenses in the league. Van Nistelrooy will take charge of his first game on Tuesday against West Ham at the KP Stadium.
