Real Madrid aims to strengthen their defense but faces financial issues with Laporte’s signing.
Laporte has played for Athletic Club in Spain and Manchester City in England. His experience makes him a strong candidate for Real Madrid. Yet, the club is facing financial challenges that complicate the possibility of bringing him in.
Real Madrid has clear goals for the transfer windows. They want to find new players for the centre-back and right-back positions. Talks for a summer transfer are already happening, and while Ancelotti likes Laporte, the club is also looking at other options.
One alternative is Vitor Reis from Palmeiras. Real Madrid has been gathering information about him from his agents and the club. However, no final decision has been made yet. Premier League teams seem to be ahead in the race to sign Laporte.
Another player on their list is Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig. However, recent news indicates that there have not been serious efforts to bring him to Madrid. A more budget-friendly option could be Rafa Marin, a former academy player. He is currently at Napoli but is not getting much playing time. Real Madrid has a buy-back clause for him, making it easier to sign him back.
Despite these other options, Laporte is still Ancelotti’s top choice. His experience in high-level European football makes him very appealing. Laporte’s ability to adjust to La Liga, along with his leadership skills, could provide immediate support to Real Madrid’s defense.
For now, the club has not made any definite choices about their next defensive target. As talks continue, it will be interesting to see how Real Madrid decides to strengthen their team.
