Real Madrid faces a defensive issue and is looking to bring back Rafa Marin.
The team had plans to sign Leny Yoro, a young player they thought would join them. They were confident he would choose Real Madrid over other offers. Because of this belief, they let go of players like Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin.
However, Yoro did not join the team, leaving them with only two fit center-backs. This has created a gap in their defense that they need to fill quickly.
Now, Real Madrid is reconsidering Rafa Marin, who was with them just a few months ago. The club had previously thought he was not needed and let him go. They now see him as a possible solution to their current issues.
Marin is a young defender who knows the club well. He understands the expectations of playing for Real Madrid. The club has a buy-back option in his contract, which makes it easier for them to bring him back.
He moved to Napoli for €12 million but has not played much there. So far, he has not made his debut in Serie A and has only played one game for Napoli.
Real Madrid has several buy-back options for Marin that change over time. Currently, they can buy him back for €25 million in 2026 and €35 million in 2027.
It is uncertain if the club can negotiate his return in January or the summer. However, since it could benefit everyone involved, it might not be too difficult to arrange.
