Dani Ceballos and Antonio Rudiger share their thoughts on Real Madrid’s solid 2-0 victory over Getafe, highlighting teamwork and the importance of staying focused for upcoming matches.
From the beginning, Madrid played well, showing good teamwork. Although there were some tense moments near the end, the players stayed united and ensured they earned the three points.
Ceballos expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, saying, “It was a very solid match from start to finish. We struggled a bit at the end, but we played a great game.”
Getafe is known for its strong defense, making it tough for opponents to score. However, Madrid started the match with high energy, creating chances and converting two early opportunities to take control.
Ceballos noted, “Getafe is a very compact team that defends well, but we came out with good rhythm and scored the first two chances we had.” This victory puts Madrid in a good position in La Liga, just one point behind the leaders, with a game in hand.
He added, “The only way to catch Barcelona is by adding three points at a time, and we are doing that. We have another tough game on Wednesday, and it’s a good time to keep reducing the gap.”
Antonio Rudiger also shared his thoughts on the match. He was pleased with the team’s performance and recognized the importance of the win. Despite a controversial penalty decision, Madrid made the most of their chances.
Rudiger said, “We have to be happy with the three points, but we feel we could have scored more goals. We were very good from the start.” He emphasized the need for focus and consistency as the team competes in both La Liga and the Champions League.
“Things are going well in La Liga since our last defeat, but we can’t get distracted. We need to keep this up in La Liga and improve in the Champions League,” he stated.
The defender praised the team’s defensive efforts, especially the communication among the players. He also commended young player Raul Asencio and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for their contributions.
“The defense starts with those up front, and that’s where we’ve improved. There’s a lot of communication in defense, which is very important,” he said. “I want to congratulate Raúl because he’s doing a fantastic job.”
This victory over Getafe boosts Madrid’s momentum and keeps their title hopes alive as they continue to compete in both domestic and European tournaments.
