Real Madrid’s team bus was in a crash, but no serious injuries occurred.
The crash took place on Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The players had already flown back to Madrid after the game at Anfield, so they were not on the bus.
At the time of the accident, the bus was heading south between junction 16 for Hockley Heath and junction 15 for Warwick. Footage showed the damaged bus parked on the side of the road.
Police and emergency services quickly arrived at the scene. The accident caused major delays in the area. A police statement confirmed that officers responded to reports of the crash involving the bus, a car, and a lorry. They noted that thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.
This incident happened just a day after Real Madrid lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the Champions League. The defeat left the team struggling in the group stage, sitting 24th under the new format.
This was their third loss in five matches, raising concerns about their chances of moving on to the knockout rounds. Liverpool’s victory allowed them to maintain a perfect record in the competition, placing them at the top of the group with two games left.
Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo secured the win for Liverpool. Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe missed a key penalty in the second half, which could have changed the outcome.
At the time of the crash, the bus was carrying club staff and drivers. The team had flown home right after the match, which helped avoid a more serious situation.
This loss to Liverpool was significant for Real Madrid, marking their first defeat to the team since 2009. They had previously won against Liverpool in the 2018 and 2022 Champions League finals.
Now, Carlo Ancelotti’s team must focus on bouncing back from this loss, both in their games and off the field.
