Paris: On Sunday, L’Équipe shared news that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has started talks with Mohamed Salah’s agents. This suggests that the 32-year-old forward might be more willing to join the Ligue 1 team. The news has sparked fresh rumors about a possible transfer.
However, PSG quickly denied these reports. A club source told the French media that the claims are not true. The article also hinted that Salah might be using these rumors to strengthen his position in his contract discussions with Liverpool.
In the meantime, Football Insider reported that Salah is looking for a big contract extension to stay at Anfield until 2027. The Egyptian player is reportedly asking for an extra three years in this round of negotiations.
Despite the rumors surrounding PSG, it seems Salah is likely to remain with Liverpool. On Wednesday, TEAMtalk mentioned that there has been significant progress in contract talks, and sources are optimistic that an agreement will be reached soon.
RMC Sport pundit Daniel Riolo has shared his thoughts on the situation. He believes that a move to PSG could be a good idea for Salah. He noted that Salah takes excellent care of himself, which is a positive sign for any team.
Riolo stated, “These days, knowing a player stays home, eats well, and gets proper rest is definitely a positive.” He also mentioned that while there were signs Salah might be slowing down last year, he has shown no decline this season. He questioned if Salah’s current performance is linked to his desire for a contract extension.
Riolo added, “As long as PSG doesn’t offer him a five-year deal or something excessive, then yes, it’s a smart move to bring him in. PSG desperately needs a player of his caliber—there’s no doubt about that.” He emphasized that there is no debate about Salah’s level compared to the current PSG squad.
