Top female football players and coaches are nominated for the 2024 FIFA Best Awards.
Mary Earps, a key player for the Lionesses, is also on the list. She has previously won the women’s goalkeeper of the year award for the last two years and is nominated again this time.
Beth Mead, who plays for England and Arsenal, is nominated for the new Marta Award. This award honors the best goal in women’s football. Mead’s nomination comes from her impressive second goal against West Ham in November 2023.
The award is named after Brazil’s Marta, who is also nominated for her achievements. Emma Hayes, the coach who led Chelsea to a fifth straight title in the Women’s Super League, is nominated for coach of the year. She also guided the USA to Olympic gold.
