In a tragic incident on Monday, two people were killed and 64 others were injured in a head-on collision between two Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) busses on the Pune-Solapur highway at Daund taluka in Pune district.
The accident occurred at around 1:15 pm on Monday in Varvand village, located in Daund taluka, about 60 kilometers from Pune city.
Two busses were involved in the accident: one on its way from Pune to the temple town of Tuljapur in Dharashiv district and the other on its way from Jamkhed in Ahmednagar district to Pune. The accident occurred when the Pune-bound bus turned onto the opposite side of the highway.
