Mikel Arteta’s Influence on Leroy Sane’s Future at Arsenal

Fans of Arsenal might hope that Mikel Arteta can use his past relationship with Sane to bring him to the club. Unfortunately, reports suggest that their connection is not very strong. Christian Falk has mentioned that Arteta and Sane are not particularly close.

Falk explained that while some fans thought their previous time together at Manchester City would help, it may not be a significant advantage. Sane had some issues at City related to his training attitude, which could affect their relationship. Falk even asked Sane if he still had Arteta’s number, and Sane replied that he did not.

Sane is currently on a contract worth €20 million, but there are hints he might accept less. There has been no solid interest from Arsenal or Manchester United yet. The 28-year-old has had limited playing time this season, with only 471 minutes across 13 appearances after recovering from groin surgery.

The question arises whether Sane is more likely to join Manchester United than Arsenal. It is important to note that Sane and his family had a tough time settling in Manchester during his previous stint. Moving to the red side of Manchester might not guarantee a better experience.

However, Sane’s advisors are likely aware that the competition at Arsenal is tougher, with players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli already in strong form. If Sane’s contract talks with Bayern do not go well, he will have options, including Manchester United and Arsenal. The decision ultimately lies with Sane.
