Manchester United wins 3-2 against Bodo/Glimt, showcasing Mazraoui’s impressive performance.
The goal came after Bodo/Glimt’s goalkeeper, Nikita Haikin, made a mistake while trying to clear the ball. He let Rasmus Hojlund pressure him, allowing Garnacho to score easily. However, Bodo/Glimt responded strongly, scoring two goals in just four minutes. Hakon Evjen and Philip Zinckernagel put them ahead early in the match.
Just before halftime, Hojlund scored a fantastic goal, bringing United back to level terms. He later scored again, netting the winning goal from a close-range cross by Manuel Ugarte five minutes into the second half. Although United struggled at times, Amorim’s coaching was starting to show positive results.
One player who stood out was Noussair Mazraoui, who played a key role in the match. Amorim used him as one of three central defenders, alongside Lisandro Martínez and Matthijs de Ligt. This decision paid off, as Mazraoui had a strong performance.
Amorim praised Mazraoui, saying, “He’s a great player. He’s our future.” He noted that Mazraoui always seems energetic, even though they need to manage his playing time carefully. The coach emphasized that Mazraoui is the kind of player the team needs.
Mazraoui has played in different positions since joining Manchester United from Bayern Munich last summer. At times, he has even played as a number 10. He expressed his versatility, saying, “I’ve played in four positions and I do my utmost in all of them.”
