Manchester United prepares for a crucial Europa League match with a new line-up.
Manchester: Manchester United’s manager Ruben Amorim has announced the team for the Europa League match against Bodo/Glimt at Old Trafford. The team has had a mixed performance in Europe, earning six points from four matches. They need to improve to secure a spot in the last 16 of the tournament.
Currently, United is three points behind the top eight teams. A win tonight could help them close that gap. Ahead of the match, Amorim made six changes to the team that drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
Andre Onana remains the goalkeeper, keeping his position as usual. In defense, Lisandro Martinez returns after a short injury. He will play alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. Jonny Evans is not included in the squad for this match.
Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot will start on the bench. Antony and Tyrell Malacia are chosen to play as wing-backs. This is Malacia’s first senior game for United since May 2023, making it a significant moment for him.
In the midfield, Manuel Ugarte will team up with Bruno Fernandes. Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are left out, along with Marcus Rashford, who played as a forward last weekend. Mason Mount will join Alejandro Garnacho in the attacking midfield roles.
Rasmus Hojlund will lead the attack. He needs to show his skills and make a strong impression in this important match. The confirmed line-up for Manchester United is Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez; Antony, Ugarte, Fernandes, Malacia; Mount, Garnacho; Hojlund.
