Manchester United’s recent victory has propelled them into the top half of the Premier League, closing the gap on rivals Manchester City and showcasing a strong defensive record.
Manchester: Manchester United has moved up in the Premier League after a strong 4-0 win against Everton at Old Trafford. This victory puts them just four points away from the Champions League spots and their rivals, Manchester City.
The Red Devils started the season poorly under manager Erik ten Hag, but things have improved since he left. They earned four points in two games with interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Under their new manager, Ruben Amorim, they have continued to gather points. The win against Everton has pushed them into ninth place in the league, and they now have a better goal difference than City.
City, on the other hand, is struggling under manager Pep Guardiola. They have lost four league games in a row, including a defeat to Liverpool. Their current goal difference is +3, which is one less than United’s after their big win.
Despite some ups and downs in their league performance, United’s defense has been strong. They have only conceded 13 goals, making them one of the best defensive teams in the league. In contrast, City has allowed 19 goals this season.
There seems to be a shift in momentum right now. United is only four points behind City, and they could potentially overtake the reigning champions when they play at the Etihad Stadium in December.
Before that match, United will face Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in the league. Their upcoming game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium will be a key test to see how much they have improved under Amorim.
