Manchester United Fans Outraged: Jim Ratcliffe’s Ticket Price Hike Sparks Fury

Manchester: Fans of Manchester United are upset with Jim Ratcliffe’s management. A report from the Telegraph reveals their frustration over rising ticket prices. The cost for tickets has jumped to £66, nearly double what it was before. This increase also affects children’s tickets.

Current ticket holders won’t see immediate changes, but any tickets they return will be subject to the new pricing. Despite the club’s assurances that this won’t impact member allocations, fans remain dissatisfied.

A survey by the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) shows that 65% of fans disapprove of Ratcliffe’s management. Alarmingly, 95% believe the price hike will drive away younger fans.

Additionally, 68% of supporters say they will attend fewer games, while only 3% are indifferent to the increase. Almost all respondents, 99%, agree that the club should consult fans before making future ticket price changes.

Fans were hopeful when Ratcliffe joined, especially after years of poor management by the Glazers family. Although the Glazers still own most of the club, Ratcliffe oversees football operations.

The Glazers have faced backlash from fans, and Ratcliffe risks facing similar discontent due to the recent price increase. To achieve his goal of elevating United in football, he needs the backing of the supporters.

While only a small number of fans participated in the survey, the results reflect a significant sentiment about the club’s management.

Protests erupted outside Old Trafford before the recent 4-0 victory over Everton, and demonstrations may continue against Nottingham Forest. Ratcliffe must address fan concerns to avoid a boycott of home games, especially given the club’s current challenges. He should reconsider the proposed changes for now.
