Manchester United will miss two key players, Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez, due to suspensions for their upcoming match against Arsenal, creating challenges for the team’s strategy.
The team is currently playing against Everton at Old Trafford, where they are leading 4-0. However, this victory comes with a significant cost. Mainoo, who recently returned from a calf injury, received his fifth yellow card during the match. This means he will miss the next game due to an automatic one-game ban.
Martinez also picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, which means he will be sidelined as well. This is a big loss for Manchester United, especially with a challenging match against Arsenal coming up.
Manager Ruben Amorim will have to adjust his lineup without Mainoo in midfield and Martinez in central defense. It is expected that Manuel Ugarte will take Mainoo’s place in the starting lineup. However, Amorim would have preferred to have Mainoo play alongside Ugarte.
With Martinez out, Luke Shaw is likely to step in on the left side of the back three. Amorim usually prefers a left-footed player for this position, and Shaw has experience playing there under his management.
Currently, Manchester United is four points behind the Champions League spots. This gap could widen if Manchester City wins or draws against Liverpool. The team will need to find a way to cope with these suspensions as they aim to secure a vital win against Arsenal.
