Man Utd now want to agree deal for ‘very talented’ star after Liverpool interest – report
Lisbon: Manchester United is looking to sign one of Portugal’s rising stars. The player in question is Geovany Quenda, a young talent from Sporting CP. United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, is eager to strengthen his squad.

The team has had a decent start this season, with a draw against Ipswich Town and a win over Bodo/Glimt at Old Trafford. Amorim plans to keep the current squad for now but aims to make improvements next summer.

Quenda has caught the attention of United, and reports suggest the club is ready to spend £50 million, not including bonuses, to secure him. With Liverpool also interested, United wants to act quickly to secure a deal.

Sporting CP is aware of the interest in Quenda and is open to selling him for the right price. They will allow his departure if they receive £50 million plus additional fees.

The 17-year-old made his debut in August and has been a regular starter since then. He plays as a right wing-back and has scored two goals and provided two assists in 20 matches. His defensive skills are impressive, winning 62 percent of his duels and recovering the ball three times.

Quenda is known for his talent, work rate, and speed during counter-attacks. He has established himself at Sporting CP and could do the same at Manchester United, especially since Amorim was instrumental in his rise to the first team.

Amad Diallo performed well in the right wing-back position recently, but Amorim may want more competition in that area. He prefers to have at least one winger playing as a wing-back.

Antony might be the player to leave if Quenda joins the team. There are rumors that the Brazilian could depart when the transfer window opens in January.

Due to Brexit rules, Quenda cannot be signed until he turns 18 on April 30. However, United is keen to finalize a deal as soon as the transfer window reopens.
