Paris: Liverpool is keeping a close eye on Xavi Simons, who is currently on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain. The young midfielder has impressed during his time in Germany, but his future remains uncertain.
PSG loaned Simons to Leipzig for this season, but they may consider a permanent transfer next summer. Many top clubs are interested in him, including Manchester City and Liverpool, as reported by journalist Christian Falk.
Other big names like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Manchester United have also shown interest in the talented player. Leipzig is keen to secure Simons in January, but they face a challenge due to PSG’s hefty €80 million asking price.
Simons has a contract with PSG until 2027, but he seems less inclined to return to the French club. This situation has led to speculation about his next move and which clubs are serious about signing him.
Liverpool is under the guidance of Dutch manager Arne Slot and is preparing for changes in the team. Mohamed Salah’s contract runs out in June 2025, raising questions about his future with the club.
While Liverpool is linked to several players as potential replacements for Salah, Simons is not currently a top priority. Reports indicate that the club is also considering Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.
Although both Simons and Williams have been on Liverpool’s radar, recent updates suggest that the club is focusing on other options to strengthen its attacking lineup.
