Liverpool’s Ian Rush Talks About Upcoming Match Against Manchester City

Liverpool: Ian Rush, the top scorer for Liverpool, recently spoke on BBC Radio Merseyside about the big match coming up between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield. He mentioned that if Liverpool wins, they could be 11 points ahead of the current champions, Manchester City.

Rush noted that not losing to City might be a good result this time. He explained that usually, Liverpool needs to win against City to stay in the title race. However, he believes City will feel the pressure to get a good result since the game is at Liverpool, where the fans create an amazing atmosphere.

With a lot of the season still left to play, Rush thinks Manchester City still has a chance to get back into the title race. City has not won any of their last six matches, but Rush believes they often perform well in January when it matters most.

He recalled that during his playing days, January was seen as the real start of the season. Teams would hold on until then and then push forward. Rush pointed out that Liverpool used to do this, and City has been successful in recent years. He emphasized that Liverpool needs to be in a strong position to do the same starting in January.
