Leicester Players’ Christmas Party Behavior Called Unacceptable by Caretaker Manager

Leicester: Caretaker manager Ben Dawson has said that the players’ actions at their Christmas party in Copenhagen were not acceptable. However, he mentioned that the team has moved on from the incident. The players went to Denmark after losing 2-1 to Chelsea, and the manager Steve Cooper was fired the next day.

A video surfaced showing the players celebrating in a club in Copenhagen. In the video, there was a sign that read “Enzo, I miss you,” which referred to their former manager Enzo Maresca. Dawson, who is set to lead the team in their upcoming match against Brentford, confirmed that the players were spoken to about their behavior.

He stated that the club made it clear that what happened was not acceptable and emphasized the need to move forward. Dawson said that the focus is now on training well and performing better in their next game. He acknowledged that players need time off and that they were free to enjoy their break.

Dawson assured that the issue was handled quickly within the team, and they are ready to move past it. Currently, Leicester is in 18th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

Dawson learned about Cooper’s firing while he was at a laser tag event with his family. He was enjoying a day out when he received the news and was asked to take over the team. He had to stay calm despite the sudden change in his responsibilities.

He shared that he was at laser tag with his wife and children, along with some local players and their parents. When the news broke, he tried to remain composed while dealing with many questions. Dawson reached out to Cooper and other staff members to check on them after the announcement.

He mentioned that it was his time off, and he wanted to spend quality moments with his family. He aimed to relax and recharge so he could return to work ready to lead the team effectively.
