Juventus faces injury challenges but includes five young players for the game.
Milan: Juventus has announced its squad for the upcoming match against Lecce. Coach Thiago Motta revealed that five players from the Academy will join the team. This decision comes as the club deals with several injuries among its regular players.
The team is missing nine players for the Serie A match on Sunday. Dusan Vlahovic is still recovering from a muscle injury. Nicolò Savona also cannot play after getting hurt in a recent game against Aston Villa.
Motta shared this information during a press conference on Saturday. He mentioned that the five young players included are Alfonso Montero, Filippo Pagnucco, Augusto Owusu, Diego Pugno, and Christos Papadopoulos. Their inclusion shows the club’s commitment to developing young talent.
The nine players who are unavailable for the match include Gleison Bremer, Nico Gonzalez, Arkadiusz Milik, Douglas Luiz, Vasilije Adžić, Juan Cabal, Dusan Vlahovic, Nicolò Savona, and Weston McKennie. This situation puts pressure on the remaining squad members.
Motta is likely to keep the same lineup he used against Aston Villa, with one change. Brazilian defender Danilo will take Savona’s place in the starting eleven. This adjustment aims to maintain the team’s performance despite the injuries.
Juventus remains unbeaten in Serie A this season. However, they are currently in sixth place, four points behind the leaders, Napoli. The team hopes to improve its position with a strong performance against Lecce.
