Juventus struggles with injuries as nine players miss the upcoming game against Lecce.
During a press conference, Motta shared the list of players who will not be available. The injured players include Gleison Bremer, Nico Gonzalez, Arek Milik, Douglas Luiz, Vasilije Adžić, Juan Cabal, Dusan Vlahovic, Nicolò Savona, and Weston McKennie.
Vlahovic has missed the last two games against Milan and Aston Villa, and it is still unclear when he will return. Motta expressed that Vlahovic and the other injured players are eager to help the team but are currently unable to play.
Motta emphasized the need to focus on the players who are fit to play. He mentioned that the team is working hard with those available while waiting for the injured players to recover.
Last week, Motta noted that the number of injuries was not just a coincidence. When asked if he was referring to Juventus or other teams, he clarified that it was a general issue affecting many teams.
The injury crisis means that Motta will have to rely on younger players from the Next Gen and U19 teams for the match against Lecce. The young players called up include Alfonso Montero, Filippo Pagnucco, Augusto Owusu, Diego Ripani, and Christos Papadopoulos.
Motta expressed his desire to see strong performances from the team and emphasized the importance of creating chances to win. He stated that they are focused on the upcoming match and will prepare for future games later.
He has confidence in the players who are available and believes they will perform well. Motta encouraged everyone to give their best to support the team during this challenging time.
Lecce recently appointed a new coach, Marco Giampaolo, who won his first match in charge last weekend. Motta acknowledged that a new coach often brings a fresh sense of enthusiasm to a team.
He noted that Lecce’s players who haven’t had much playing time will be eager to prove themselves. Motta expects Lecce to play aggressively and put pressure on Juventus during the match.
