Juventus may trade Douglas Luiz to Manchester United in January, aiming to strengthen their squad while pursuing striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.
Douglas Luiz joined Juventus from Aston Villa for €50 million last summer. However, he has not made a significant impact since arriving in Turin. So far this season, he has only played 312 minutes and has not scored or assisted any goals.
The Brazilian midfielder has also been sidelined with muscle fatigue since October. With strong performances from teammates Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram, Luiz may find it hard to return to the starting lineup.
Recent reports suggest that Juventus might want to cut their losses with Luiz and consider moving him on sooner rather than later. The club is looking to make some changes in January to improve their squad.
Juventus is hoping to bring in new players, especially after injuries to key defenders Bremer and Juan Cabal. They also need a forward to support Dusan Vlahovic in the attack.
Zirkzee has been frequently mentioned as a target for Juventus. However, the club has limited funds for January unless they can offload some current players first.
To address this, reports suggest that Juventus might propose a player exchange with Manchester United, offering Douglas Luiz in return for Zirkzee. This could be a win-win situation for both clubs.
Additionally, there are rumors that Luiz could return to Aston Villa if the deal with Manchester United does not go through. The situation remains fluid as Juventus looks to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
