Inter Milan Backup Keeper To Have Hand Surgery This Week

Milan: Inter Milan’s backup goalkeeper Raffaele Di Gennaro is set to have surgery on his hand this week. This news comes from Sky Sport Italia and FCInterNews. The 31-year-old player will need some time to recover after the operation.

Di Gennaro hurt his finger during training. The injury is a sprain on his left hand. Because of this issue, he will need surgery. Reports say the procedure will take place in the next few days.

As Inter’s third-choice goalkeeper, Di Gennaro has been with the team since last season. He joined the club in the summer of 2023. Before that, he played for Gubbio, a team in Serie B.

He came to Inter to fill the spot left by Alex Cordaz. Di Gennaro is also a product of Inter’s youth academy. He left the club to find more playing time but returned in 2023.

Since coming back, he has not played in any matches for Inter. However, he has been a valuable presence in training and has a strong connection to the team.
