Fiorentina’s coach discusses the team’s win and mistakes in their latest match.
Fiorentina has had a tough time this season, often making their matches harder than necessary. This was evident again at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, where they missed chances to secure a comfortable win. Instead, they allowed Pafos to score, making the end of the game quite stressful.
Palladino praised his team for their effort but acknowledged that they need to improve. He mentioned that Pafos is a well-organized team that had not conceded more than two goals in previous matches. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and the spirit shown by his players.
The coach was particularly upset about the second goal, where goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano lost the ball while trying to play it out. This mistake allowed Jaja to score easily. Palladino prefers to be honest in his assessments rather than using typical coach phrases.
He believes that while his players work hard in training, there is always room for improvement. The more they practice together, the better they will become. Lucas Martinez Quarta played in a new midfield position and even scored a goal, but he also got injured during the match.
Palladino had confidence in Quarta’s ability to perform well in this new role. He had observed Quarta’s versatility and commitment during training, which made him believe it was a good decision. Fiorentina has been on a winning streak, having won their last seven Serie A games.
Looking ahead, Fiorentina will face Inter, the current champions of Italy. Palladino recognizes the strength of their opponents but encourages his team to enjoy the experience. He wants them to approach the game with an open and attacking mindset, aiming for a memorable night.
