A Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter Milan was halted after midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed on the field, prompting immediate medical attention and rescheduling of the game.
The game was set to start at 18:00 CET and began as planned. For the first fifteen minutes, everything went smoothly. However, in the sixteenth minute, the situation took a serious turn.
After a goal by Inter was disallowed, Bove suddenly fell to the ground. He is currently on loan to Fiorentina from Roma and has been a key player for the team. His collapse was unexpected and not caused by any physical contact with other players.
Bove fell away from the action, indicating a possible medical issue. This incident reminded many of the cardiac arrest suffered by Christian Eriksen during a match in 2021.
Both teams were visibly shaken by what happened. Players from Fiorentina and Inter gathered around Bove, showing their concern and trying to shield him from cameras while he received help.
An ambulance arrived quickly, and Bove was taken to the hospital for urgent care. Due to this serious incident, the match at Stadio Artemio Franchi will be rescheduled for a later date.
