FIFA has announced the nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024, featuring top players and coaches.
Among the nominees for The Best FIFA Women’s Player award are four stars from the Barclays Women’s Super League. Khadija Shaw and Lauren Hemp from Manchester City, Lucy Bronze from Chelsea, and Mariona Caldentey from Arsenal are all on the 16-player shortlist. Additionally, England’s Keira Walsh is also included.
For The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award, Manchester City’s Ayaka Yamashita is one of five nominees. She will face tough competition from former Chelsea keeper Ann-Katrin Berger and England’s Mary Earps, who are also nominated for this award.
In the category for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, Manchester City’s Gareth Taylor and Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor have received nominations. Former Chelsea manager Emma Hayes is also on the shortlist, along with five other coaches from around the globe.
Voting for all categories is now open. Fans can visit FIFA.com to cast their votes. The voting period will end at 11pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Besides individual awards, fans can also choose The Best FIFA Women’s 11 from a list of 77 nominees. The most popular player selections will be announced during The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony later this year.
