Fabio Vieira scores for FC Porto in Europa League match

Lisbon: Fabio Vieira, who is on loan from Arsenal, scored his first goal for FC Porto on Thursday night. This happened during a Europa League game against Anderlecht. The goal was important for Porto, who had lost their last three matches.

Before the game, Porto needed a win to help their season. Vieira started the match on the bench after playing earlier in the week. However, he was brought on when the score was tied at 1-1 with just eight minutes left.

As soon as he entered the game, Vieira made an impact. He quickly took control of the ball in midfield and moved towards the opponent’s goal. With a powerful shot from outside the box, he scored, putting Porto ahead. This was his first goal in 12 games for the team.

Unfortunately, Porto could not hold onto the lead. Just three minutes later, they allowed Anderlecht to score again, resulting in a 2-2 draw. While the draw stopped their losing streak, Porto was disappointed not to win.

The match started poorly for Porto when defender Pepe made a mistake, allowing Anderlecht to score first. Later, Porto’s Otavio accidentally headed the ball into his own net, which led to the equalizer.

Currently, Porto is in 23rd place in the league table. They are still in a position to progress in the tournament, but only by a small margin. Their hopes of finishing in the top eight and avoiding a playoff game seem slim at this point.
