Joussain, a 23-year-old French player, joined the Tigers from Nottingham before the season began. He will team up with Harry Wells in the second row for this important match.
Some key players, including England lock George Martin and Wales back row Tommy Reffell, will not play as they are being rested after the autumn internationals. However, England scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet and full-back Freddie Steward are both set to start.
Tigers head coach Michael Cheika is also giving centre Izaia Perese his first European appearance for the club. Additionally, Jed Holloway and Joseph Woodward may make their Champions Cup debuts from the bench.
Bordeaux has named a strong lineup, featuring France backs Damian Penaud and Louis Bielle-Biarrey, along with Scotland lock Jonny Gray. Gray has been impressive since returning from a serious knee injury in September.
Bordeaux has won their last two matches and will face the Tigers for only the second time in history. Leicester Tigers recently lost to Sale in the Premiership but are currently in third place after a strong start to the season.
Cheika, who previously coached Leinster to a Champions Cup victory over the Tigers in 2009, expressed excitement about the upcoming match. He stated that this competition brings great occasions and challenges, and the team is ready for it.
