Ivan Zamorano praises Ronaldo’s legacy and expresses confidence in Lautaro Martinez’s potential to shine again.

Zamorano had a remarkable career at Inter, joining the club in 1996 after successful stints at Sevilla and Real Madrid. He played for Inter until 2001, making 148 appearances and scoring 39 goals across all competitions. During his time, he shared the field with many talented players, including the legendary Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, who also played for clubs like PSV, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, had some of his best years at Inter. Zamorano reflected on their time together, stating, “For me, he was the best Number Nine in history and the best player I ever played with.” He also expressed gratitude for his former coach Gigi Simoni, whom he regarded as a father figure.
Zamorano didn’t stop at praising Ronaldo; he also expressed confidence in Lautaro Martinez. Despite Martinez not being at his best recently, Zamorano believes he is a world-class player. “Lautaro is not just at the level of the club,” he emphasized.
Martinez has faced challenges in scoring, having been Inter’s top scorer for three consecutive seasons and the leading scorer in Serie A last season. This dip in form led to him being overlooked for the FIFA The Best award nominations. Nevertheless, he remains a crucial part of Inter’s lineup, wearing the captain’s armband and partnering with Marcus Thuram in the attack.
