Everton may not renew contract for defender Michael Keane

Liverpool: Everton is not planning to give a new contract to Michael Keane. The 31-year-old defender joined the team from Burnley in 2017 and has played over 220 games for them. Currently, he is one of the highest-paid players, earning around £80,000 each week.

With 13 players set to become free agents at the end of the season, reports suggest that Keane will not receive a similar deal. He has scored two goals in nine Premier League matches this season. His current contract ends this season, and there is a strong chance he could leave without a transfer fee.

Everton is entering a significant time in its history. The Friedkin Group has bought 94% of the club’s shares from Farhad Moshiri and is waiting for approval from the Premier League. This new ownership is expected to bring a different approach compared to the previous management.
