Fiorentina’s midfielder Edoardo Bove is awake and recovering after collapsing during a match, bringing relief to fans and teammates alike following a tense situation on the field.
Bove spent the night in intensive care but is no longer on a ventilator. His first words after waking up were, “Thank you everyone,” according to reports from local media.
The match was stopped in the 17th minute when Bove fell to the ground unexpectedly. Medical staff quickly rushed to help him, and he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Reports say that Bove was breathing on his own when he was transported to the hospital. He regained consciousness later that evening at Careggi hospital, which is close to the stadium.
The Lega Serie A announced that the match would not continue that night. When it is rescheduled, play will pick up from the 17th minute where the game was paused.
