London: Declan Rice has opened up about his performance for Arsenal this season. He believes he is finally getting back to his best after a slow start in the 2024/25 campaign.
On Wednesday, Rice contributed significantly to Arsenal’s game, helping set up a goal with a well-placed corner that Jurrien Timber headed in. This marked Rice’s fifth goal contribution of the season.
Last season, Rice was known for his effective corner deliveries, but this year Bukayo Saka has taken the lead in creating chances from set pieces. However, Rice’s performance in midweek was a reminder of his capabilities.
After the match, Rice expressed his satisfaction with his performance. He felt confident about his corner kicks and believed he could create scoring opportunities. He mentioned, “There were a couple tonight that were really good.”
Rice reflected on his season, admitting he has not always played at his best. He attributed his slow start to the long Euros tournament and noted that he is now feeling much better and closer to his peak form.
“It’s been a slow start to the season for me personally,” he said. “But I think the last few weeks I’ve been feeling much better and back to my best.” He added that he had a different energy during the game, wanting to do everything possible for the team’s victory.
Arsenal benefited from Rice’s performance, not only from the goal but also from his ability to regain possession and support the team’s play. His contributions were crucial in helping the team secure the win.
Looking ahead, Arsenal has a busy schedule, especially with a cup match against Crystal Palace coming up. They will need Rice to maintain his form to keep their hopes for trophies alive this season.
