Declan Rice expressed his joy after Arsenal’s victory against West Ham, his former team, in a thrilling Premier League match filled with excitement and fan reactions.
Rice had faced West Ham three times before this match. In those games, West Ham had won twice, once in the League Cup and once in the Premier League. However, Arsenal managed to win against them back in February.
In that previous match, Arsenal had a fantastic 6-0 victory, with Rice scoring one goal and assisting two others. This performance did not sit well with West Ham fans, who were unhappy with their former player.
On Saturday, Rice started the game again. The match quickly turned in Arsenal’s favor, resembling their earlier 6-0 win. They took a strong lead, scoring four goals in the first half.
However, West Ham fought back and managed to score two goals before the 40th minute. Just before halftime, Bukayo Saka scored again for Arsenal, making it 5-2, and that score held until the end of the match.
After the game, Rice took to Instagram to share his excitement. He wrote, “Amazing win today! Always nice to go back and see familiar faces. On to next we go ❤️”
During the match, some West Ham fans booed Rice when he had the ball. There were also chants directed at him, especially during his corner kicks. Arsenal fans joined in, chanting playful jabs at West Ham.
Despite the mixed reactions from the crowd, Rice has always tried to keep things friendly with his former club. His Instagram post seemed to reflect that sentiment, focusing on the positive aspects of the game and his return to West Ham.
