Danny Welbeck talks about rumors of returning to Manchester United while focusing on Brighton.
At Brighton, Welbeck has become an important player, scoring 32 goals and providing 10 assists in 140 matches. This season, he has already scored six goals in just 13 Premier League games, showing he is in great form.
His recent success has led to surprising speculation about him going back to Manchester United. However, at 34 years old, it seems unlikely he would wear the red jersey again, especially since United has invested in new strikers recently.
Welbeck has dismissed these rumors, saying he is focused on his current role at Brighton. He mentioned, “It’s speculation. Being a Manchester boy, I’ve always got that link after coming through at United. Stuff always comes up, but I’m just focusing on what I can do for Brighton.”
He was also asked about possibly returning to the England national team. Despite his good form, it seems tough for him to get back in, with strong players like Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins around.
“I had a great time playing for England, but my focus is solely on Brighton,” he said. He has played 42 times for England and scored 16 goals. “The rest of the other stuff takes care of itself. My mind is set on Brighton and trying to get three points every weekend.”
