Lopetegui will lead the team in their upcoming match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, if they lose or draw, it could signal the end of his time at the club.
Reports suggest that Graham Potter could be interested in the short-term offer from West Ham. He currently lives in Brighton, making the move to West Ham an easy option for him.
Potter, who previously managed Brighton successfully, had a tough time at Chelsea and has not managed a team since 2023. He knows that long contracts in football can be risky, as he experienced at Chelsea, where he was dismissed after just seven months.
West Ham’s board met recently to discuss Lopetegui’s future after a disappointing 3-1 loss to Leicester City. This defeat marked their seventh loss in the current Premier League season.
Although Lopetegui is still in charge for now, his position is uncertain. If the team fails to perform well against Wolves, Potter may be a serious contender for the job.
Despite spending a lot of money in the summer transfer window, West Ham’s performance has not improved significantly. There are concerns about the lack of progress under Lopetegui.
Potter’s name is gaining attention, especially since Wolves have also reached out to him regarding their managerial vacancy. West Ham is also looking at other candidates, including Edin Terzic, Roger Schmidt, Sergio Conceicao, and Massimiliano Allegri, as potential replacements for Lopetegui.
