Conte and Vanoli meet again as Napoli faces Torino in Serie A showdown.
Torino hired Vanoli last summer to take over from Ivan Juric. He is a former defender for Parma and Fiorentina. Last season, he helped Venezia get promoted to Serie A. Vanoli has also been part of Conte’s coaching staff in the past.
During their time together, they won one Premier League title and one FA Cup with Chelsea. They also secured a Serie A title with Inter Milan. However, when Conte invited Vanoli to join him at Tottenham in November 2021, Vanoli turned down the offer. He wanted to wait for a chance to be a head coach.
Soon after, he was hired by Spartak Moscow in Russia. Vanoli reflected on their time together, saying, “Conte and I spent four years together. It’s hard to pass the perfectionism and resilience to the players.” He praised Conte’s ability to build strong and united teams.
Vanoli has always respected his role as an assistant and learned a lot from Conte. He tried to add his own ideas as he began his coaching journey. Despite not joining Conte at Tottenham, they have kept a good relationship.
Conte expressed his feelings about their split, saying, “I was sorry when we had to split, but at the same time, I was proud I had given him something.” He acknowledged that Vanoli also contributed to his success during their time together.
As they prepare for the match, both coaches are eager to show what they have learned from each other. The game promises to be an exciting encounter as Napoli looks to maintain their lead in the league against a struggling Torino side.
