Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca updates fans on Wesley Fofana’s injury after a solid win against Aston Villa, revealing he will be out for several weeks.
Fofana, a key player in Chelsea’s defense, got hurt during the game and had to leave the field. He was replaced by Benoit Badiashile after about an hour of play. This injury is concerning, especially since Fofana has faced injury issues in the past.
When he limped off the pitch at Stamford Bridge, it was clear he was upset. Chelsea hopes to have him back soon, as they have a busy schedule ahead in the Premier League.
In a press conference after the match, Maresca was asked about Fofana’s condition. He confirmed that the news was not good. According to reports, Fofana has a hamstring injury, similar to one that Reece James suffered earlier.
Maresca mentioned that Fofana is expected to be out for about four to five weeks. He described the injury as a significant loss for the team. Fofana has played 11 matches in the Premier League this season, forming a strong partnership with Levi Colwill in defense.
Chelsea’s next match is against Southampton, who are currently at the bottom of the Premier League. Unfortunately, Fofana will not be available for this game.
Badiashile is likely to take Fofana’s place in the starting lineup. He stepped in during the match against Aston Villa, but other players like Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi are also ready to show what they can do.
