Burnley manager Scott Parker is optimistic about Josh Brownhill’s return for Saturday’s game.
Currently, Burnley is just two points away from the top spot. They have been performing well, winning three games in a row and keeping four clean sheets. This strong performance gives them confidence as they prepare for the upcoming match at the Bet365 Stadium.
Brownhill, who has scored five goals this season, has been a consistent player. He played every minute of 15 Championship matches until last Saturday. In that game against his old team, Bristol City, he had to leave the field after 84 minutes due to an injury.
Since then, Brownhill missed the game against Coventry on Tuesday. In his absence, Josh Laurent stepped in to fill his position in midfield. Parker mentioned that Brownhill trained on the grass recently, which is a positive sign for his recovery.
Parker explained that after the weekend’s game, it was too soon for Brownhill to play on Tuesday. However, he noted that Brownhill is making good progress. The team will assess his condition on Friday before making a final decision about his participation in the match.
Parker also shared that other players, like Joe Worrall, Lyle Foster, and Hannes Delcroix, are improving and have been training on the field. The focus now is on getting them back to match fitness. They need to gain experience in games, starting with the under-21s, before returning to full match readiness.
