Dan Ndoye shines with two goals as Bologna secures a strong win against struggling Venezia
Bologna had been doing well before this match, winning three games in a row. However, they faced a tough defeat against Lazio last week when they played with only ten men. Tommaso Pobega was not available for this game due to suspension. They also lost to Lille in the Champions League, even though they managed to score their first goal in that tournament.
On the other hand, Venezia was struggling, having lost their last three matches. They were also dealing with injuries, as Francesco Zampano had surgery on his hand.
The game started with some action as Remo Freuler tried to score from outside the box. Dan Ndoye also had a chance but couldn’t find a teammate with his cross. Jens Odgaard missed a good opportunity when he volleyed over the goal from close range.
Ndoye then earned a penalty after being fouled by Ridgeciano Haps. He confidently scored from the spot, marking his first goal of the season and only his second in Serie A.
Venezia had a chance to equalize shortly after, but Hans Nicolussi Caviglia missed the target from a good position. The game continued with both teams trying to create chances, but Bologna looked more dangerous.
In the second half, Bologna faced a setback when Lorenzo De Silvestri had to leave the field due to an injury. Despite this, they kept pushing forward. Jesper Karlsson had a chance but failed to score, hitting the ball weakly into the goalkeeper’s hands.
Odgaard had two more attempts but couldn’t find the back of the net. After a VAR review, Bologna was awarded another penalty, which Riccardo Orsolini converted to make it 2-0.
Shortly after, Orsolini assisted Ndoye, who scored his second goal of the match, making it 3-0. Venezia’s situation worsened when they lost substitute John Yeboah to injury.
Bologna’s goalkeeper, Lukasz Skorupski, made a fantastic save to deny Joel Pohjanpalo, keeping the clean sheet intact. The match ended with Bologna celebrating a well-deserved victory over a struggling Venezia team.
