Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham faced a minor neck issue during a match but is expected to recover quickly and play against Athletic Club on Wednesday.
The issue, described as a neck blockage, happened after he collided with the Getafe goalkeeper, David Soria. Despite this injury, Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, assured fans that it is not serious.
Ancelotti stated that Bellingham’s injury should not keep him from playing in the upcoming match against Athletic Club at San Mames on Wednesday. He mentioned, “Bellingham had a neck problem, he had it blocked and couldn’t continue. It’s a minor problem and I think he’ll recover in two days.”
Bellingham has been performing exceptionally well for Real Madrid. He scored the first goal of the match against Getafe by converting a penalty and also assisted in another goal, helping his team take control early on.
However, after experiencing dizziness due to the neck issue, he had to be substituted at half-time. Arda Guler came on to replace him and helped maintain the team’s momentum.
The match ended with a solid 2-0 win for Real Madrid, further strengthening their position in the league. Bellingham’s early exit was a precaution, as Ancelotti wanted to prioritize his long-term health over risking further injury.
While there were initial worries about Bellingham’s condition, the club remains hopeful for a quick recovery. Ancelotti confirmed that the neck issue is minor, and the player should be back to full fitness soon.
For now, the decision to substitute Bellingham was made to ensure he has enough time to recover without worsening the situation. The team is optimistic about his return for the next match.
