Bayern Munich is now in a tough spot after Harry Kane’s injury. They need to decide who will step in for him during their upcoming match against Bayer Leverkusen.
Now, coach Vincent Kompany must decide who will replace Kane for the DFB Pokal match against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday. The most obvious choice is Müller, but he is not the same goal-scorer he used to be. In the game against Dortmund, Bayern changed their strategy, which left Müller drifting and the team lacking in central positions.
Another option for Kompany is Mathys Tel. The young French player has not had many chances to play this season, even though he finished last season strong with six goal contributions in his last 11 Bundesliga games. Most of the time, he has played on the wing, except for two matches where he was more central.
This season has been different for Tel. He has only played 174 minutes in five Bundesliga games and has been left on the bench for six league matches. There are rumors that he might go on loan in January, but Kane’s injury could change that as the winter break approaches.
Tel was surprisingly given a start against Borussia Dortmund, and now, without Kane, he could be a good option for Kompany. The team is in a tricky situation, and the decision on who will fill Kane’s shoes is crucial for their upcoming match.
