Arteta believes Manchester City deserve better results despite recent struggles

Manchester: Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, spoke about Manchester City’s recent tough times. He noted that they have not won in six games, which includes five losses and one draw. This poor run has been affected by injuries to key players.

In their last match, City was leading 3-0 against Feyenoord but ended up drawing 3-3. This result must have felt disappointing for them, especially playing at home in front of their fans.

When asked if he thinks City will improve now that some players are back, Arteta said they have deserved better results even with injuries. He believes they should have won more games.

Arteta stated, “Even with those injuries, they deserved to win every game.” He emphasized that the team’s performance has been better than their opponents, which should have led to more victories.

He added, “This is football. They deserve, but you don’t win it.” Arteta acknowledged that sometimes, despite deserving to win, the results do not go your way.

Regarding City’s overall form, Arteta mentioned that it is unusual for them to struggle like this after nine successful years. He pointed out that it is surprising it took this long for them to face a rough patch.

Arteta said, “A bump, everybody has a bump.” He highlighted how consistent City has been over the years, making this current situation feel strange.

He explained that for a team to succeed, everything must align perfectly, including player performance and luck. The competition is tough, and winning is not easy.

From Arsenal’s perspective, it would be beneficial if City could regain their form before their upcoming match against Liverpool. With the current standings, it is crucial for someone to challenge the league leaders. A draw in that match would be ideal for Arsenal.
