‘Many levels to go’: Arteta expects ‘exceptional’ Arsenal star to improve further, not Nwaneri
London: Arsenal is set to play West Ham United this evening, hoping to secure another win in the Premier League. The team has been performing well since the international break, achieving solid victories against Nottingham Forest and Sporting CP.

Manager Mikel Arteta is optimistic about the team’s chances and has praised player Jurrien Timber. Arteta noted Timber’s exceptional skills and leadership qualities, highlighting his courage and purpose on the field. He believes Timber still has much potential to develop further.

Timber had a tough time last season, making only two league appearances due to a serious knee injury. However, he has been mostly injury-free this season and is starting to show the talent he displayed during his time at Ajax.

Initially, Timber played as a left-back for Arsenal, but he has now shifted to the right side of defense after Ben White’s knee surgery. He seems to excel in this right-back position, especially in his connections with teammates Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.

Although Timber narrowly missed scoring against Nottingham Forest due to an offside call, he shone in the match against Sporting CP, where he assisted Gabriel Martinelli early in the game. With White expected to be out for about three months, Timber is likely to have a significant role at right-back.

Currently, Arsenal is nine points behind league leaders Liverpool. A win against West Ham would be a great chance for them to close the gap. Liverpool faces a tough match against Manchester City, who are eager to end their six-game winless streak.
