Porto: Fabio Vieira is feeling like himself again after scoring two goals in two games while on loan from Arsenal. He netted his latest goal against Casa Pia on Monday night.
In this match, Vieira played a different role than usual. He started in a more central position, unlike his previous games where he was mainly on the right side. This change helped him score again.
During the game, Vieira moved the ball toward the box and passed it to the right. The cross was slightly behind his teammate, Samu Omorodion, who then assisted Vieira for the goal.
Porto won the match 2-0, and Vieira played for 79 minutes, earning the Player of the Match award. After the game, he shared that he feels he is reaching a turning point in his loan experience.
“Scoring is always good,” Vieira said. “I want to give my all. I think I’m getting back to the real Fábio, my intensity, and I hope to keep improving to help the team.”
The manager, Vitor Bruno, praised Vieira, noting that while his talent is clear, he has faced challenges due to injuries. He emphasized that Vieira needs more training and match experience to return to his best form.
Bruno also commented on Vieira’s position, suggesting that his comments about feeling like his true self might relate to playing centrally again. He stated that Vieira will play where he can best help the team.
Vieira scored his first goal of the loan against Anderlecht last Thursday, and now he has two goals. He has played in many matches but needed to start scoring and assisting, which seems to be happening now.
