Arsenal’s manager updates fans on player injuries before the game against West Ham.
After a strong win in Lisbon earlier in the week, the team returned to England. However, they have at least one injury concern. Gabriel Magalhaes had to leave the game early, just ten minutes before it ended.
Arteta mentioned that he was unsure about the seriousness of Gabriel’s injury. He said Gabriel felt some discomfort, which made him consider substituting him. However, he could not make that change and had to focus on other substitutions instead.
Days later, Arteta still had no clear updates on Gabriel’s condition. He stated that the club would have to “wait and see” if Gabriel would be fit to play on Saturday.
When discussing the overall team news, Arteta said there wasn’t much to report. He mentioned that they had another training session and needed to check how the players were feeling. Some players were unable to train, which raised concerns.
While no other players seemed to get injured during the last match, four players were substituted: Gabriel Martinelli, Declan Rice, Riccardo Calafiori, and Martin Odegaard. Since all four have had injuries recently, their substitutions were likely just a precaution.
As for confirmed injuries, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are both expected to be out for a longer period. Neither player will be available for the match against West Ham.
