Arsenal’s upcoming games are mostly in London, easing travel during a busy schedule.
In a recent press conference, Arteta shared his thoughts on this situation. He mentioned that having fewer travel commitments is beneficial for the team. He noted, “Less travelling is always better. It is crazy that we have that many games so close to us.”
Arsenal’s next nine matches will all take place in London. They will play five games at their home ground, the Emirates Stadium, and four away games against West Ham, Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Brentford. This stretch will conclude with an away match against Brighton on January 4th, which is still relatively nearby.
Following the Brighton game, Arsenal will have three more matches at the Emirates Stadium. This means that out of their next 13 games, 12 will be played in London. Additionally, there is a chance for one more game to be added to this list. The FA Cup third-round match on January 11th has yet to be scheduled, which could either be at home or far away.
There is also a possibility of a League Cup semi-final in January. This will depend on whether Arsenal can win against Crystal Palace in the next round.
The reason for this series of London games is that Arsenal has been traveling a lot recently. The upcoming match against West Ham will be their sixth away game in just seven matchdays. They have already played in places like Preston, Newcastle, Milan, and Lisbon. Arteta believes the team deserves some home games after all that travel.
